Today is Sunday.  Knowing that I am ahead of the game.  HA HA.  I never know what day it is.  When I worked it was so different, but that was many moons ago, and getting older sure hasn’t helped.  If it weren’t for my watching my favorite tv shows, I wouldn’t know what day it was.  HA HA.  Tonight Revenge is back on and Emily doesn’t remember who she is.  It should be a good one.  And I am so glad that Hallmark Channel stopped showing the Christmas movies.  They were all shown over and over and over and over and then over again…  I need to relax and watch Frasier and Golden Girls at 11 PM.  Ha ha….  See, it really doesn’t take much to make me happy…..

Saw a really good movie today.  Last Vegas with Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, just to name a few.  See it if you can. 

Having leftover chili that I made yesterday.  It was really good.  So good that at about 1AM this morning I went and got some.  If they didn’t want you eating at night they wouldn’t have a light bulb in the refrigerator so you could see in there.

Today’s January Photo Challenge was Fresh…  I chose my fresh pot of coffee..  There is nothing like a fresh pot or the first cup..  

Started out cool this morning but it’s nice out.  I am so tired though.  I could not sleep again.  What else is new….  I didn’t fall asleep until after 3AM and had to take more heartburn medication.  Then I got up early and still have not recovered.

I have a pot of Chili going…  No beans.  I do not like beans, so I didn’t put them in.  If anyone wants some they will have to add their own…..HA Ha.  It is smelling so good in here…Will make rice and that’s supper…plenty of leftovers.  It’s always better the next day, just like lasagna or soup.  Always better the next day… 

My face hurts.  I can hear it now..  Yeah well, it’s killing me…  It just feels so dry or something.  I always get the weirdest things happen to me…  Again with the snickers from the peanut gallery..  Ha ha.. 

I’m going to miss Wilton when he goes home.  It’s been 10 days.  Isn’t there a rule that says possession is 9/10ths of the law.  Ha ha…  He misses his mom and the walks she takes him on.  He has been such a good little boy for me.. Since my back and leg problems prevent me from walking or standing long, he has been a little trooper..  He is not a couch potato when it comes to walking…  I feel bad for him.  He loves to sleep in my bed and doesn’t move..  I haven’t ever seen anything like it.  Gotta go stir the Chili.  Be right back…. Well right back is an understatement.  It’s almost 9:30 and Mr. Willie just went home.  He was so  happy to see his momma....

January 3rd photo challenge - Relax

I am babysitting Willie for a neighbor and he is adorable.  He loves to sleep in my bed.  He has taken over the bed, the sheets, the covers, and the pillow..  Next I wonder if he’ll try out my bi-pap machine.  Ha ha……  He does like to relax and chill.  More like chillaxin…. Ha ha..

It was dang cold this morning.  In the 30’s.  Went to the 40’s this afternoon and it was cool but nice.  Didn’t do much today.  Went to pick up my prescriptions,  then to Publix for a turkey sub and stuff to make chili, and other things.  Put gas in my car and it was shocked.  Ha ha…..  I was afraid to put to much in it.  Didn’t want it to go into cardiac arrest and quit on me…  Ha Ha.

Finished reading my book,  “More Than You Know” by Nan Parson Rossiter.  It was a really good book.  Also, saw the movie “Saving Mr Banks”.  If you get a chance, go see this one.  It was fantabulous… Tom Hanks can not play a bad part….  He plays Walt Disney in this movie and is trying to buy the book rights to Mary Poppins to make it into a movie.  It was so good.  You have to see it..

January 2, 2014 -

Organize is the picture of the day Day two of the photo challenge and I am still doing it. . Yeah me..  ha ha..  I have so many things that need organizing that my head spins and my brain (or at the marbles in there) shake, rattle and roll around. 

 

I chose this book that a friend of mine Rachel made for me as a Christmas gift.  It is to keep website addresses and passwords (which I do forget) in.  I have a bunch of envelopes and papers with them on it, and some I don't even know at all....  So this is the perfect place to start.  Start small and work my way up.. I also like the idea that it is homemade, so that makes it special....  As soon as I post this I will make my first entry....Or maybe I should stop writing and do it now.  Yeah I think that's what I'll do..  Go get a snack.  I'll be right back....Okay, I'm back.  I would show it to you, but I heard giving out passwords is not a good idea.  ha ha.  So you will just have to take my word for it.

 

 

Went to Wally World today for some yarn and lunch meat.  I actually got a good riding cart full of juice...There was a huge line for the deli so I didn't get anything.  They carry the Land O Lakes American white cheese that I like.  Publix quit carrying it when then started carrying Boars Head products.  Anyway.....Still have Willie with me.  He is so darn cute, but I forgot about them having to be walked...  ha ha...  With my sciatic acting up and my back, it has been a challenge.  I know he misses his mom.  Michelle takes him for LONG walks.  We go a couple doors down and back.  But he is curled in my bed and seems okay with it..

 

We are going from being in the high 70's and low 80's to the 40's or 30's tonight with the wind chills.  That's a big drop.  If it's cold I want to see snow. Not drive in it or shovel it, just look at the beauty of it.  As to my water, I am almost done my 3rd one.  I will try to have another one. 

 

Had some good phone conversations today, and one for almost 2 hours with a friend who we just don't get to talk much or see each other much since she started working.  It was really good to catch up and laugh like that again.  Hopefully we will be getting together sooner than later.  Reminiscing about a class we took at the college 4 years ago and trying to remember names... ha ha. 

 

There is a lull in the rain so I am taking Willie out, and then on to watching t.v.  Full lineup of good shows tonight.  Well at least for me..

JANUARY 1, 2014 HAPPY NEW YEAR

Out with the old and in with the new.  Goodbye 2013 and hello 2014....It has been raining and misting rain all day.  Good day for laying around.  Watched a cute movie.  It's a Disney movie, Frozen....  If you get a chance watch it   

I have been babysitting a neighbor and friends dog and I been loving having him here...  But it has also shown me the challenges I face with not having a "couch potato" like Beulah.  My back and legs just won't let me walk very far at all. 

A few friends are doing this challenge and talked me into it.  Let's see how long it lasts for me.  I made day one..  Yeah for me.  HA HA...

I really NEED to start to drink more water.  I drink very little liquids besides coffee, and need to start working on the water, so that is what I am choosing as my goal.  No specific amounts, just drink... ha ha...

A Not So Bad Hair Day:

Today thank goodness was not such a bad hair day… With my birthday coming up, it was time to renew my drivers license.  I tried to do it on line, but nope.  I had to go in.  It’s like they want you to sign over your life.  You have to bring in your birth certificate, social security card, 3 pieces of mail with your address on it (no longer than 60 days old), your marriage license because your name is different from your birth certificate, and if you’ve been married more than once, your first marriage certificate (because that has your maiden name on it), your divorce papers, and your current marriage license as it had your ex husbands last name on it.  Have I lost you yet??  Ha ha… Then just to be on the safe side I brought in Don’s death certificate.  I figured if I didn’t have that, it would be the one thing they wanted.  Lo and behold that’s the only thing they didn’t want.  All this because of 9/11.  Life was so different.  The good news is even though they moved I found them.  Yeah for me.  Ha ha… I won’t have to go through all that again for another 8 years.  Phewww…

The best news is that you know how your drivers license pictures are always horrible and look like bad mug shots, well, mine came out half decent.  I was shocked that I didn’t hate it.. It’s either shock or the fact that the older you get the more you care less about it.  Ha ha…

Now all that’s left of the birthday nonsense is getting my tag renewed.  And I will remember to put on the sticker.  I had never does this before Don died, so when I renewed my tags, I just stuck the paper in my glove compartment.  That’s weird that it’s called a “glove compartment”.  This is Florida….No one wears gloves… And then again even if it was cold, wouldn’t you be wearing your gloves and not keeping them in a compartment in your car?  Hmmmm.  Something to ponder… Oh yeah, so like I was saying, I put the paperwork in the glove compartment ( it still baffles me).  I had 3 years worth of papers with the stickers attached in there.  Didn’t realize I had to put the sticker on the license plate..  And no one ever stopped me for it.  Guess I was lucky. Will get that done in the next few days.

Well, that’s about it for now.  Glove compartment, who’d a thunk it…..

It’s been a long while since I have written on my blog.  Nicole misses it so I decided to write today.  It is nice this morning, but will be hot (in the 80’s) again today.  Waiting for the cooler temperatures.  Sure do wish we would have snow here.

I have read many books since the last entry.  All 3 of the “50 Shades of Grey” books.  There was a really good love story in there.  I have read lots of others but can’t remember the titles.  I will have to keep track again.  Ha ha

My latest obsession, besides crocheting, is pinterest. I can spend a lifetime on there.  Ha ha.  It would take me being about 300 years old to do everything I have pinned.  My favorite are the quotes and the dogs and the crafts and the recipes and well, just all of it.  Ha ha..

I saw a recipe, and I use that term lightly, for popcorn.  It seemed easy enough so I tried it.  I couldn’t fathom making popcorn without oil. The recipe is 

POPCORN IN PAPER BAG

½ cup of popcorn kernels
Paper bag
Microwave

That’s it.  You put the popcorn kernels in the brown paper sandwich bag.  Fold the top down twice, and place standing up in the microwave.  Microwave it for 3 minutes (mine took less than 2 minutes).  The bottom came apart slightly (enough to have some kernels to clean up in the microwave).  It came apart at the seam.  Next time I will double bag it.  I was so surprised at how fluffy and good the popcorn came out.  I will be making it again today with the double bags.  

I go tomorrow for my drivers license renewal.  I liked it better when we could do it online.  Now since 9/11 we have to go in and bring all this paperwork with us.  I hope my eyes can read the chart.  HA HA.  I know my hair will be a mess as it got so long and needs to be cut and have low lights put back in.  Hey, it’s a drivers license photo.  They never look good.  Maybe I should google how to pose for your license picture.  HA HA..
